This prize winning project combines the facilities of a sail club and a youth house.
The Maritime Youth House in Amager, Copenhagen, is covered by a 1600 m2 FSC certified wooden deck. The building is situated by the seaside and it was important for the architect that the landscape was mimicked, while at the same time creating an outside area that gives kids a creative environment to play in and the sail club a site to park their boats.
The outdoor decking becomes a great part of the buildings iconic shape. For this the species massaranduba is chosen for its high density and weather resistance.
