Placed in the center of Waalwijk a new city hall was built in 2010 and the six-storey office tower now overlooks this old city. The building is created to accommodate both political activities and for the architects it was essential that the the central lobby has a light and welcoming environment.
The first thing you encounter as a visitor is the large front desk covered in Breu Branco wood. When new the wood is typical light brown and is often used in formwork like in this case. Besides the front desk the species is also used for skirting, indoor paneling and other counters in the lobby.
